During raids in the Novosibirsk region, employees of JSC “RES” detected illegal electricity consumption for cryptocurrency mining.

The mining farm was found in a bakery in the Druzhny settlement. There were more than a dozen ASIC devices.

\n\n

The organizer of the farm installed a magnet on the electricity meter to distort readings and used a forged magnetic-field indicator seal.

\n\n

Preliminary estimates indicate unaccounted consumption of about 200,000 kWh and losses exceeding 1 million rubles. The bakery owner could face up to five years in prison.

\n\n

Over the past year, energy authorities in the Novosibirsk region halted five mining farms. The total amount of illegal consumption exceeded 10 million rubles.

Earlier, was named Dagestan as the leader in electricity theft for mining.
