Kraken opens waitlist for its own NFT marketplace

The Kraken cryptocurrency exchange has opened a waitlist for its own NFT marketplace. The company said it would reimburse users for gas fees incurred on platform operations.

The platform is described by Kraken as a “comprehensive solution for exploring, curating and protecting” NFTs. According to the press release, specialized tools will allow users to assess the rarity of NFT attributes.

The marketplace will be integrated with Kraken user accounts. Assets on the platform can be bought or sold for fiat or cryptocurrency. Initially, the platform supports NFTs on the Ethereum and Solana networks, with plans to expand the list in the future.

Earlier, Kraken chief Jesse Powell said the company will consider offering loans secured by NFTs.
