zkSync developers to launch Pathfinder L3 testnet
In the first quarter of 2023, Matter Labs запустит a public third-level (L3) testnet Pathfinder on top of Ethereum.
The developers reminded that by the end of October there will be the announced in July launch of the L2 solution for scaling zkSync 2.0. EVM-compatible network is built on the zero-knowledge proofs protocol and uses the ZK-Rollups technology.
The team noted that, according to Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin called the central pillar of blockchain scalability.
According to the statement, Pathfinder will deliver an order-of-magnitude increase in transaction throughput, greater security, and reduce costs in geometric progression.
According to the developers, the L3 solution is an ecosystem of interconnected blockchains based on zkEVM, which they called “hyperchains”.
One of the key advantages will be the ability to deploy in the network its own HyperBridges.
The testnet will be public and can be used for open experiments, research, and development at the L3 level, Matter Labs said.
“We are confident that Pathfinder is a tool for conducting such research more effectively. In the coming months the solution will allow us to actively experiment so that we can continue building the future of this ecosystem,” the developers said.
Matter Labs launched the zkSync 2.0 testnet in February 2022.
