Huobi cryptocurrency exchange announces rebranding

The cryptocurrency exchange Huobi unveiled an updated branding strategy, under which the platform will drop the official name Huobi Global. ForkLog was told by project representatives.

According to the statement, the new name ‘Huobi’ in Chinese consists of two characters. The first signifies enduring vitality and its link to future generations, the second signifies a resolve to win.

Following the name change, the exchange will continue brand development and will concentrate to the maximum extent on the policy for using the native HT token. The asset will remain at the core of Huobi’s business strategy, the company noted.

As part of its global expansion, the exchange plans to open an office in Caribbean Basin countries.

The company will also increase investments in Southeast Asia, Europe and other regions to grow its user base.

To scale the business, Huobi will consider strategic mergers and acquisitions. The company will also focus on attracting highly skilled professionals in blockchain and virtual assets.

In terms of regulatory compliance, Huobi will continue to adhere to regulatory policies across all jurisdictions, expanding cooperation with regulators.

“With the refreshed brand, a new roadmap, and under the leadership of a global advisory council, I am confident that Huobi will strengthen its leadership in the market and reclaim the top spot among industry leaders,” said Justin Sun, founder of the Tron Foundation.

In October, the investment firm About Capital Management acquired a controlling stake in Huobi Global.

The media speculated that the ultimate beneficiary of the deal is Sun. The entrepreneur denied the rumors. The exchange clarified that he had become a member of the advisory council.

Earlier, Justin Sun stated a large position in HT tokens and plans to help raise the asset’s value.
