Toncoin price up 20% in 24 hours

Toncoin (TON) price reached $2.72. Over the past 24 hours the token rose more than 20%, over the past week about 51%, according to CoinGecko.

On December 7, the Telegram messenger opened the possibility register anonymous accounts using blockchain-based numbers. These can be acquired for TON on the launched Fragment platform on October 27.

The platform quietly launched a mechanism for selling random numbers. The minimum bid for a lot is 17 TON. The amount increases every 3 hours by 1 TON up to 99 TON, after which the number is removed from auction.

In early November, Fragment started selling usernames on Telegram for Toncoin. A trader using the nickname CryptoNik noted that by December 7 their volume had already surpassed $50 million.

On December 12, the Toncoin team announced the launch of a decentralized exchange DeDust within the project’s ecosystem, in addition to the two already operating — TonSwap and STON.fi. The latter made it into the Defi Llama ranking.

Earlier, Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced the development by the messenger team’s DEX and non-custodial wallets on the Toncoin blockchain.

The Bitget exchange announced full support for TON deposits and withdrawals on the mainnet.

Back in December 2021, Durov publicly supported the Toncoin team. The project’s token reacted with a 46% jump.
