Ethereum developers set date for Shanghai upgrade on Goerli testnet
Ethereum developers have set the date for the Shanghai upgrade on the Goerli testnet — March 14 (epoch 162304).
On today’s ACDE call, Ethereum devs agreed to schedule the Shanghai upgrade on the Goerli testnet for March 14th at epoch 162304. Goerli is the final public testnet where devs will test staked ETH withdrawals before activating the code change on mainnet.https://t.co/IBHjPQEuzR

“Goerli is the final testnet where ETH withdrawals will be tested before activating the code change on the mainnet,” noted Galaxy researcher Christina Kim.
According to her, if the testnet upgrade goes smoothly, market participants can expect the mainnet upgrade in the second week of April.
If the launch of Shanghai on Goerli goes over smoothly, Ethereum stakeholders can expect a mainnet launch of the upgrade during the 2nd week of April.

Earlier Ethereum developers successfully carried out the Shanghai-Capella (Shapella) upgrade on the Sepolia test network.
The upgrade’s main function is to enable withdrawals from Ethereum staking, which implements EIP-4895. The hard fork includes changes to the consensus layer (Capella) and the execution layer (Shanghai).
Shortly after this, developers implemented the smart accounts feature by activating the ERC-4337 standard through a smart contract named EntryPoint.
