MicroBT unveils the most powerful Bitcoin miner

The Bitcoin miner manufacturer MicroBT unveiled at the Bitcoin2023 conference in Miami the market’s most powerful Bitcoin mining device, according to CoinDesk.

WhatsMiner M53S++ delivers a hash rate of 320 TH/s with an efficiency of 22 J/TH. The miner surpasses in power the rival Antminer S19 XP Hydro from Bitmain, which provides 255 TH/s, though the latter consumes 20.8 J/TH, acknowledged MicroBT’s founder and CEO Yan Zuosin.

Two other models demonstrated by the company were the WhatsMiner M50S++ with a hash rate of 150 TH/s and the immersion-cooled M56S++ with 230 TH/s. The energy efficiency of both devices is also 22 J/TH.

The company emphasised its focus on using renewable energy for mining the first cryptocurrency. Therefore, MicroBT is working on voltage and current frequency adjustments in the devices to make them better suited to be powered by such sources, the head of the firm noted.

“Facing an energy crisis and global warming, Yan Zuosin believes that the energy source for Bitcoin mining must be modernised, finding the best ecological solutions,” MicroBT said.

According to the head of the company, more than 90% of the heat generated by miners can be captured and used for other needs such as heating.

Earlier in October 2022, the firm, together with Heat Core launched in the United States a pilot project to recover heat emitted by Bitcoin mining equipment.
