Binance.US to delist 10 trading pairs and suspend OTC trading

On June 8 at 19:00 (Kyiv/Moscow time), the US unit of the cryptocurrency exchange Binance удалит 10 trading pairs involving BTC and BUSD from the advanced trading section.

The list includes: ATOM/BTC, BCH/BTC, DOT/BTC, LRC/BTC, MANA/BTC, UNI/BTC, VET/BTC, XTZ/BTC, HBAR/BUSD and ONE/BUSD.

The platform had planned to remove several USDT pairs but, following community feedback, reversed the decision.

Binance.US also announced that it would suspend its OTC trading portal. The company will notify users of the exact date of the shutdown “in the coming weeks and months”.

On June 5, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed suit against Binance and its CEO Changpeng Zhao. The regulator leveled 13 charges, including the sale of unregistered securities.

Subsequently there were reports that the regulator’s claims are analogous to the charges brought against the failed crypto exchange FTX and its subsidiary Alameda Research.

The SEC demanded that the court freeze Binance.US assets. Company representatives called the regulator’s actions “unfounded”.

Earlier in June, Binance announced the delisting of 12 anonymous tokens in four EU countries — France, Italy, Poland and Spain.
