Worldcoin launches service in Germany in partnership with Auth0
The Worldcoin project by Sam Altman запустил the protocol for identity verification and financial transactions in Germany.
The initiative was implemented in collaboration with Auth0 by Okta, one of the worlds largest authentication and authorization platforms.
German citizens now have access to World ID and the Sign in with Worldcoin tool. The Auth0 integration represents a major rollout of the latter.
Sign in resembles a typical social-media-style login—access to multiple apps or websites through a single account.
The Auth0 integration means that thousands apps, using the platform, now support sign-in with Worldcoin.
“Sign in with Worldcoin is designed to provide secure and privacy-preserving access to services and apps, while preventing fraud and bot activity,” — explained by Tiago Sada, head of product at Tools for Humanity.
Users can enjoy greater privacy, because when signing in through Worldcoin a zero-knowledge proof is generated on their device. It authenticates their identity (proof of personhood) without revealing any private information and helping to prevent fraud and bot activity.
As an example, Sada cited an app that would require Sign in with Worldcoin to purchase tickets for a concert or event. With identity verification, artists can be sure the tickets go to fans rather than bots or aggregators who would then resell them at higher prices.
“The implementations and apps for signing in with Sign in with Worldcoin are limitless,” said Sada.
To create the so-called digital passport users can use the World app.
World ID can be verified using a phone number or data from the Orb. The latter is a biometric-visualization device designed to confirm identity. The Orb is designed, constructed and produced in Germany.
Back in May 2023, the Tools for Humanity team, which includes the developers of Sam Altman’s Worldcoin, raised $115 million following a funding round.
