Trustee Plus unveils its crypto-payment card
Starting August 1, the Ukrainian crypto-neobank Trustee Plus began issuing payment cards in the Mastercard network, which will allow paying with digital assets at points of sale.
The card is issued within the European Economic Area. Linked to the user’s cryptocurrency balance via Google Pay or Apple Pay, it automatically transfers the euro equivalent to the merchant’s account when a transaction is made. In Ukraine, the euro is automatically converted into hryvnia.
Use of the card is available immediately after downloading the app and completing verification. Trustee Plus charges a fee only for cryptocurrency conversion — 0.5% of the transaction amount.
“We have done everything so that everyone can use cryptocurrencies for daily expenses. Already now the first 2,191 users have activated their crypto cards in the Trustee Plus app,” said founder and CEO Trustee Plus Vadim Grusha.
The card costs €10 to issue. However, as part of the launch, users who install the Trustee Plus app before August 5 will receive the payment card for free.
As noted, Trustee Plus announced the launch of virtual cryptocurrency cards as early as March.
