Actor Pavel Derevyanko discusses failed crypto investments

Russian actor Pavel Derevyanko said to «360» that he is being asked for “much more” than 45 million rubles due to a failed investment in the crypto business. The actor promised to reveal details later.

On August 26, the Telegram channel Baza said that after successful investments in the crypto business, through an acquaintance of Derevyanko, acting on his recommendation, he carelessly signed a contract with a certain businessman.

Instead of the promised 84% annual return, the actor received two lawsuits demanding payment of 45 million rubles.

“Very soon I will issue an official statement, and I will tell the whole country how it happened. For now I will say nothing; it’s pointless,” Derevyanko said.

In 2019, Russian singer Alexander Fadeev, better known as Danko, lost 5 million rubles in a bid to profit from cryptocurrency. He invested in equipment for Bitcoin mining, but the seller claimed that it had been stolen.

In August 2023, former FSB officer for the Samara region, Lieutenant Colonel Dmitry Demin admitted guilt in the embezzlement of 68 BTC totaling 187 million rubles from a cybercriminal who was under investigation.
