Russian firms issued more than 80 DFAs in Q3
The market for digital financial assets (DFA) posted modest growth in the third quarter of 2023, with more than 80 new tokens issued during the period. The information comes from TASS, citing analysts from ACRA.
Most issuances take the form of short-term and relatively small direct payment claims on issuers. Nearly 90% of all new issuances were issued by three operators — Atomyze, Sberbank and Alfa-Bank.
ACRA expects the emergence of assets backed by rights to monetary claims against third parties, as well as hybrid tokens incorporating utilitarian digital rights.
Ten companies hold licenses to issue DFAs in Russia: Atomyze, “Lighthouse”, Sberbank, Alfa-Bank, “Masterchain”, Eurofinance Mosnarbank, “Tokeon”, “SPB Exchange”, “Blockchain Hub” and the National Settlement Depository.
The sole operator of the DFA exchange at present is Moscow Exchange PJSC.
As of mid-June, the cumulative volume of tokens issued in Russia stood at about 4.6 billion rubles.
