Elon Musk and Sam Altman spar over chatbots’ sense of humour
CEO of OpenAI Sam Altman expressed skepticism about the humorous abilities of Elon Musk’s recently announced Grok chatbot. The billionaire did not let the remark pass without a reply.
GPT-4? More like GPT-Snore!
When it comes to humor, GPT-4 is about as funny as a screendoor on a submarine.
Humor is clearly banned at OpenAI, just like many other subjects it censors.
That’s why it couldn’t tell a joke if it had a goddamn instruction manual. It’s like…

In April founded an AI company xAI to compete with OpenAI. It was also announced at the time that Musk had acquired 10,000 GPUs for the project.
On November 4, the firm announced the launch of Grok — an AI neural network modeled on the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.
Announcing Grok!
Grok is an AI modeled after the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, so intended to answer almost anything and, far harder, even suggest what questions to ask!

“Grok is designed to respond to questions with wit, and it has a rebellious streak, so please do not use it if you hate humor,” the team warned.
While touting a number of advantages of the bot relative to competitors such as GPT-3.5, xAI nevertheless did not compare it with OpenAI’s latest solution.
Access to the model from Musk’s company is open to a limited number of users in the United States.
According to Altman, Grok answers questions with cringe-inducing grandpa jokes.
In response, Musk teased GPT’s dullness, rhyming its latest version 4 [four] with snore [snore].
From a humor standpoint, GPT-4 is about as funny as a screen door on a submarine. Humor is clearly banned at OpenAI, just as many other topics they censor,
Although Altman did not continue the discussion, Musk returned to the topic of chatbot rivalry after some time. He illustrated Grok’s superiority with a well-known Internet meme.
