One Trading announced the launch of the ‘fastest’ crypto exchange

One Trading announced the imminent launch of the world’s fastest trading venue for digital assets, named FAST. The Block reports The Block.

Representatives say that the matching and risk-management engine of the new exchange operates in under one microsecond. This enables users to perform more than 200 price-discovery cycles, as well as creating and canceling orders, quickly.

Amazon Web Services tested the platform’s speed, clocking in at 112 ms. By comparison, Turquoise, part of the London Stock Exchange Group, records 136 ms.

The company also pledged to offer free trading across all cryptocurrency pairs to attract large institutional traders. FAST has filed for a trading licence in the European Union and plans to roll out derivatives in the near term.

Originally, One Trading was a subsidiary of the Bitpanda crypto platform, but in July it split away to become an independent brand. At that time the company announced a financing of €30 million.

As reported in November, the media learned about plans by the South Korean exchange Bithumb to go public and conduct an initial public offering on KOSDAQ.
