CZ’s Wealth Valued at $89 Billion, He Disagrees
Zhao stated that the figures are "way too high"
Changpeng Zhao (CZ) was ranked 21st on Forbes’ billionaire list with a fortune of $89.7 billion. The entrepreneur questioned the accuracy of these calculations.
I don’t belive this is accurate (way too high).
I also don’t think it matters. What matters is how many people we can help, and by how much.

“I don’t consider these figures accurate (way too high). I don’t think it matters. What matters is how many people we can help,” he wrote.
The Bloomberg Billionaires Index placed CZ at 26th, valuing his wealth at $63.8 billion. Experts noted that Zhao’s portfolio has grown by $10.5 billion since the beginning of the year.

This was aided by the rise of Binance’s native coin, BNB. According to a report by Forbes in June 2024, the founder of the world’s largest exchange owns 64% of the total cryptocurrency supply (89.1 million tokens). CZ previously confirmed that 98% of his wealth is in BNB, and 1.32% in Bitcoin.

On October 6, the price of the cryptocurrency associated with Binance exceeded $1200 for the first time in history. At the time of writing, BNB is trading at $1250, having risen by 3% in the last 24 hours.

Community Reaction
A user under the pseudonym Quinten called Forbes’ valuation “conservative.” He pointed to Zhao’s 90% stake in Binance and his large positions in BNB and Bitcoin.
Coinbase its market cap is roughly $100 billion.
Isn’t Binance then worth around $100 billion too? If yes, and you own 90% or so of it?.. Plus $BNB, $BTC etc.
Of course you know better than me haha, but to outsiders it sounds about right, if not quite low.
Why do you think…

“You know better than me, but to an outsider, the figure seems plausible, if not understated,” he emphasized.
A user named Dynamo ironically remarked:
“The main thing is how much we can manipulate the market to extract liquidity from retail investors.”
Some community members supported CZ. A user under the pseudonym depressivehacks criticized the media, saying they are only interested in big numbers, scandals, and wealth rankings.
Who is writing the summary article of the people being helped?
Oh, right, nobody because that stuff doesn’t get clicks.
Sad state of affairs, really.

“Who writes summary articles about those who are actually helped? Oh, right—nobody. Because that doesn’t get clicks. Sad state of affairs, isn’t it?” he commented.
Another user clarified that the Binance founder has helped 69,360 people in four countries.
In March 2024, Zhao announced the launch of the educational platform Giggle Academy. The project is aimed at providing free education from grades one to twelve.
In April 2025, CZ donated 500 BNB (~$600,000) to users from Myanmar and Thailand affected by an earthquake.
Back in July, the Binance founder supported Vitalik Buterin’s biotechnology project with $10 million. At that time, Zhao also made several private contributions to support other charitable initiatives.
