Mythical Games to Integrate World ID in Gaming

Mythical Games partners with World to identify real users and eliminate bots in gaming.

Web3 projects World and the international company Mythical Games have joined forces to identify real users in games and eliminate bots.

As part of the integration, the gaming firm will bring its users into the network of Sam Altman’s project and employ Proof of Human technology for those registering or undergoing identification for participation in games like NFL Rivals, FIFA Rivals, and Pudgy Party.

“While bots can be used in gaming, they are also employed to manipulate the gaming economy, gain unfair advantages, and earn rewards meant for humans,” the companies stated.

It is reported that nearly 75% of players are dissatisfied with the involvement of automated systems, which make the process less enjoyable.

“Millions of users play Mythical products not only because they are interesting but also because the platform allows them to truly own and trade their assets. The integration of Proof of Human technology ensures fairness and transparency in the economy,” the companies said.

Additionally, the game studio will launch its own network on top of World Chain — an L3 blockchain.

World is a project supported by Sam Altman that issues users unique World ID identifiers after scanning their irises. More than 17 million people have already joined the initiative.

In July 2024, the team launched the L2 solution — World Chain.

Based in Los Angeles, Mythical operates at the intersection of the gaming industry and blockchain. It creates games with Web3 elements, where users can own, sell, and trade in-game items. It was founded in 2018 by former employees of Activision, Blizzard, and Oculus.

Digital identification is a modern trend developing in several countries. Various services allow citizens to use electronic documents through online services, but they pose risks to personal security.

Bots: A Widespread Issue

In an April article, World noted that bots have become a global problem for the gaming industry. Their activity has particularly increased with the development of artificial intelligence.

A survey of 800 Americans showed that automated systems are present in nearly all multiplayer games. 70% of gamers regularly encounter them.

20% of respondents believe that bots enhance the gaming experience. However, the majority hold the opposite view — for them, the programs:

  • interfere with enjoying the game;
  • put people at a disadvantage;
  • provide unfair advantages;
  • artificially increase the number of players in lobbies;
  • allow manipulation of the gaming economy and obtaining rare items unfairly.

Similar results have been recorded in other countries. In Germany, Indonesia, Poland, South Korea, and Latin American countries, most users also consider bots harmful.

The World team emphasizes that their solution can eliminate the problem — World ID acts like a CAPTCHA, protected from AI. It “anonymously verifies that the user is a unique person in the network.”

Back in October, thousands of clone tokens from popular blockchains like Ethereum, Solana, and BNB Chain appeared on the World project network.
