The DeFi protocol Aave blocked access to the wallet platform of Tron Foundation founder Justin Sun after he received 0.1 ETH from an anonymous Tornado Cash mixer.

After being added Tornado Cash to the sanctions list OFAC an unknown user of the service sent 0.1 ETH to several prominent figures in the crypto industry.
In addition to Justin Sun, the recipients included Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, EthHub cofounder Anthony Sassano, crypto trader Loomdart, talk-show host Jimmy Fallon, YouTube blogger Logan Paul, and Randy Zuckerberg — sister of Meta’s CEO.
The Aave team explained that the protocol integrates analytics tools from TRM Labs, and blocks are executed automatically. According to the developers, the issue has already been resolved.
2/8 The TRM API risk parameters identify all wallets that have interacted with Tornado Cash contracts post-sanctions, even so-called “dusted” self-custodial wallets. These wallet holders may experience issues accessing the Aave IPFS frontend.

Earlier Circle added to the blacklist USDC addresses of Tornado Cash wallets after the sanctions were imposed. Infrastructure platforms Infura and Alchemy restricted RPC requests to the service.
The decentralized derivatives exchange dYdX blocked accounts of users who previously interacted with the mixer.
Earlier, Dutch authorities arrested the alleged developer of Tornado Cash. According to media reports, the individual is the co-founder of the service, Alexey Pertsev.
