The Abkhazian cabinet approved new electricity tariffs, allocating miners to a separate category. This was reported by Minister of Economy Kristina Ozgan.
Under the authorities’ decision, cryptocurrency-mining consumers will pay 3.60 rubles per kWh.
The decree will take effect on 1 July 2022.
Separate tariffs for miners will apply if Abkhazia lifts the ban on this activity, Ozgan said.
Earlier in 2020, Abkhazia introduced restrictions on cryptocurrency mining. On 1 April the Cabinet extended the mining ban and the import of goods for carrying out this activity until the end of 2022.
