Abkhazia authorities register 65 mining farms

The Ministry of Economy of Abkhazia has included 65 mining farms in the registry. Sputnik reported, citing deputy economy minister Teimuraz Mikvabiya.

He noted that authorities continue to seek owners of mining farms who have not yet submitted an application for registration.

Unregistered miners face a fine and a ban on activity for up to 90 days, Mikvabiya added.

“If the entrepreneur does not register, sanctions may be applied to him again,” the official emphasized.

According to the adopted September decree, miners were required to register as a legal entity or individual entrepreneur no later than November 7 and to provide the Ministry of Economy with information on registration and mining equipment for entry into the unified register.
