
Abkhazia to regulate mining, not ban it, says president
Abkhazia’s authorities do not intend to ban mining, but to regulate it. This was stated by Abkhazia’s president Aslan Bzhaniya, as reported by Sputnik.

“A government resolution is being prepared; it will set out the most optimal mechanisms to regulate this process,” he said.
\n
According to him, work is currently underway to identify mining farms.
\n
“There is no way to hide anything,” emphasized Bzhaniya.
\n
Mining in Abkhazia has been banned since December 2018.
\n
Meanwhile, in the first six months of 2020, mining equipment worth 84 million rubles was imported into Abkhazia.

According to media reports, due to the activities of cryptocurrency miners, Abkhazia was on the brink of an energy crisis.
