The authorities in Abkhazia continue raids to identify mining farms. Over the past week they uncovered 230 devices used for cryptocurrency mining, according to the local Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Eight facilities were disconnected from the power grid where mining was taking place. Two transformers at previously sealed sites were dismantled as well, which continued to be used for cryptocurrency mining.
A spokesman said that at six of the sites previously identified during the raids, the owners had dismantled the equipment themselves.
Back in late 2020 in Abkhazia banned mining, and the import of equipment for cryptocurrency mining was restricted until 1 June 2021.
