Acorns adds bitcoin support to its investment app
In the US-based fintech app Acorns, operating in the United States, the ability to invest in Bitcoin with yields of up to 5% per year has been added.
Acorns lets users invest their spare change from purchases into ready-made investment portfolios. The program also offers some banking services.
The company said the app currently has 4.6 million users, many of whom have shown interest in cryptocurrencies. Acorns CEO Noah Kerner stressed that the new feature is “not trading,” but a way to diversify the portfolio for the long term by investing in a volatile asset.
According to Wunder, investors are looking to be more involved in their financial decisions and to move beyond traditional instruments. In the future, Acorns plans to introduce customizable portfolios and the ability to invest in shares of individual companies.
Earlier, the Danish fintech startup Lunar launched a platform for trading cryptocurrencies after the close of another funding round.
