AI to Render Programming Skills Obsolete, Says Nvidia CEO

Programming is no longer an essential skill, declared Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang at the World Government Summit in Dubai.

The executive noted that children no longer need to be advised to learn coding. In his view, the advancement of artificial intelligence means we can replace programming languages with simple prompts.

“Over the past 10-15 years, almost everyone who spoke on this stage said that it is vital for children to study computer science. But in reality, it is not. Our task — is to create computing technology so that no one has to program. This is the miracle of AI,” Huang stated.

Following his statement, the Nvidia CEO suggested focusing on gaining experience in more practical fields.

He believes that acquiring knowledge in biology, education, and agriculture will become more in demand in the future. Consequently, the only necessary programming language will be the one people know and use from birth.

In January 2024, Meta announced the purchase of 350,000 chips from Nvidia to advance AI development.
