Alameda Research sues Voyager Digital for $445 million
Alameda Research, which is in restructuring, filed a lawsuit against the bankrupt crypto broker Voyager Digital seeking the return of $445.8 million.

The amount comprises repayments on loans Alameda repaid after Voyager’s bankruptcy filing in July 2022.
\n\n
In November, Alameda itself took a similar step together with its affiliated FTX and more than a hundred other companies.

According to the firm’s lawyers, Voyager’s loans contributed to the ‘improper conduct’ of Alameda’s former leadership. Former CEO Caroline Ellison pleaded guilty to charges related to the collapse of FTX.
\n\n
\”Their role, and that of Voyager and other crypto-lenders who funded the company and fed the illicit activity by management, was largely overshadowed by the attention paid to the alleged misconduct by Alameda and its former leadership, who are now charged, knowingly or negligently,\” the lawyers said.

The amount of Alameda’s claims could increase if lawyers uncover additional payments. They also asked Voyager to reimburse court costs.

In January, the crypto broker received court approval to sell its assets to Binance’s U.S. unit.
