Alibaba Transforms Quark into an AI Assistant

Alibaba has revamped its Quark application, turning it into an AI assistant powered by the company’s new neural network, Qwen. This development is reported by Bloomberg

The “new Quark” now integrates chatbot functions, deep thinking, and task execution into a single application. The tool can generate images, plan trips, write articles, draft meeting protocols, and perform other tasks.

“As our model evolves, we envision Quark as a gateway to endless possibilities, where users can explore everything with the help of artificial intelligence,” commented Quark CEO and Alibaba Vice President Wu Jia.

Quark was launched by Alibaba in 2016 and initially functioned as a web browser. According to the company, its user base in China has reached 200 million people over nine years.

In March, Alibaba introduced the reasoning-focused AI model QwQ-32.
