Allegations of Bribery for LIBRA Promotion by Javier Milei Emerge

Hayden Davis, CEO of Kelsier Ventures, involved in the launch of LIBRA, claimed to have paid the sister of Argentina’s President Javier Milei for her brother’s promotion of the meme coin. This was reported by LA NACION.

Journalists referred to screenshots of correspondence that came into their possession. However, they acknowledged there is no objective confirmation of the claims contained therein.

On December 11, Davis wrote to the head of a crypto investment company from which he expected funding for the coin’s launch:

“Great, we can also get Milei to tweet, hold personal meetings, and engage in promotion. I’ve got him on the hook.”

The interlocutor called this “madness,” and the head of Kelsier added:

“I send money to his sister, and he signs what I say and does what I want.”

The firm allegedly rejected the offer to support the meme coin project.

Davis refused to communicate directly with the publication. His representative responded that the entrepreneur “does not remember” such correspondence and “cannot find it on his phone.”

“Reports that I paid Javier or Karina Milei for the launch of the LIBRA meme coin are false. I never did that, and they never asked me for anything,” he quoted Davis.

Investors behind the coin’s launch admitted in correspondence that the head of Kelsier “got out of control.” One of the interlocutors called him “crazy and greedy.”

“He just felt like he had discovered the formula for printing money. Kind of did,” added the investor.

According to LA NACION, Davis maintained relations with Milei’s entourage to develop a strategy for resolving the scandal. Communication continued even after the Argentine president’s interview published on Monday.

The head of state stated that he published a tweet in support of LIBRA a few minutes after the token’s launch. According to journalists, both events occurred simultaneously.

Milei also noted that he should establish “stricter filters for communication.” The publication considered this an acknowledgment of a personal meeting with Davis, whom the head of state blamed for LIBRA’s collapse.

The CEO of Kelsier was allegedly prohibited from communicating with the press, promising not to prosecute him for offenses in Argentina.

According to Stream Finance co-founder Diogenes Casares, at least one person in Milei’s entourage received a $5 million bribe for arranging a meeting with the president.

“For clarity: this does not mean that Milei received money for promoting the token, rather, it was someone close to him,” he explained.

Casares emphasized that the high standing and confirmed reliability of his source warrant serious consideration of the claims.

Previously, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson publicly stated that he was asked to pay for a personal meeting with the President of Argentina. Two businessmen who attended the Tech Forum conference in 2024 reported the same to the media.

The team behind LIBRA was also involved in the launch of the meme coin for the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump — MELANIA.
