Amazon is testing a new AI agent for online shopping on third-party websites. This solution is capable of selecting products beyond the company’s marketplace.
The new Buy for Me feature assists in finding products and making purchases on other brands’ platforms using the Amazon Shopping app.
If Amazon does not sell the desired items, Buy for Me will display relevant products from other sites. Users can request to purchase one of them without leaving the Amazon Shopping app. The AI agent will visit the external site, select the product, and fill in all necessary details: name, delivery address, and payment information.
The service operates on the company’s AI models Nova. Data encryption is used for security.
Buy for Me is available in the Amazon Shopping apps on iOS and Android for some American customers.
Back in November 2024, Amazon developed a neural network for video and images.
In September, the company introduced a range of AI services, including an AI-based ad video generator.
