Amazon Unveils AI Video Generator for Clips Up to Two Minutes

Amazon has updated its Nova Reel video generator to version 1.1. Users can now create “multi-frame” videos up to two minutes long with a “style sequence.”

The videos consist of six-second segments. These can be styled uniformly or each frame can be individually designed using sequential prompts.

Nova Reel 1.1 introduces a Multishot Manual mode. In this mode, the model can reference an image along with a prompt to enhance composition control. Using an image with a resolution of 1280×720 and a text prompt up to 512 characters, Multishot Manual will generate a video up to 20 frames long.

“You can use Amazon Nova Reel to create compelling videos for marketing campaigns, product design, and social media content with increased efficiency and creative control,” states the announcement.

The neural network is available on AWS platforms and services such as Bedrock.

In December 2024, Amazon introduced a new generation of AI models, Amazon Nova, for a wide range of tasks. These neural networks are capable of processing text, images, and video.
