
American Cancer Society posts vacancy for blockchain specialist
ACS seeks a product manager for crypto- and NFT-related products.
The nonprofit American Cancer Society (ACS) seeks a product manager who will develop and implement a strategy for cryptocurrency- and NFT-related products.
The job posting indicates that the specialist should also cultivate relationships with external partners providing software and other relevant services. He will work in tandem with the digital marketing team, the operations department, and field staff.
The candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in business or computer science, three years of experience in product management and fintech, and relevant knowledge of blockchain.
Founded in 1913, the ACS is one of the largest charitable organisations in the United States. According to the financial report for the 2019 calendar year, it counted about 1.5 million volunteers.
During that period donations to the ACS exceeded $709 million. As of 31 December 2019, the organisation’s assets under management stood at about $1.1 billion.
In January 2021, ACS launched a charitable fund with donations exclusively in cryptocurrency. The structure was created in collaboration with The Giving Block.
In February, the Cape Cod peninsula’s largest hospital in Massachusetts received about $800,000 in Bitcoin.
Earlier in June, charity: water, which provides clean water to developing countries, also launched the Bitcoin Water Trust to accept donations in the first cryptocurrency.
