Law enforcement in Saransk are conducting an inquiry into a local resident’s report of fraud. He lost 750,000 rubles trying to earn money from cryptocurrencies, according to the website МВД.

According to the 80-year-old victim, in December he registered on a site for cryptocurrency trading. Over the course of several days he deposited funds into the account, but by the end of the month he could not withdraw the money — the site’s administration stopped responding.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has opened an investigation.

Earlier, a resident of Mezhdurechensk transferred 700,000 rubles to a fraudulent Bitcoin exchange.
