Hong Kong-based Web3-game operator Animoca Brands announced strategic investments in The Open Network (TON), becoming the network’s largest validator.
Under the partnership, the company will also provide funding for third-party game projects in the TON Play ecosystem built on TON infrastructure.
Before making the decision, Animoca conducted an analysis of TON, highlighting ease of use and the blockchain’s scalability. In addition, analysts created a dashboard reflecting the network’s key metrics.
The primary aim of the partnership is to ensure a smooth transition from Web 2.0 to Web3.
“Investments are a decisive step on the path to the next era of blockchain-based gaming. … Together we will organically integrate Web3 into the everyday experience of Telegram users, especially in gaming, so that a global audience can enjoy them,” said Justin Hyun, Director of Blockchain Growth.
On October 31, TON set a world record by handling 104,715 transactions per second. According to developers, the network could potentially process millions of operations with a sufficient number of validators.
Earlier in September, amid the Telegram wallet integration, the native TON token rose by 15%.
