Most of the major Bitcoin mining pools backed the Taproot upgrade. One of them was Antpool, the Bitmain unit, according to Poolin vice president Alejandro De La Torre.

According to CoinDesk, Antpool will publicly announce its decision in the near future. At present, mining pools accounting for 54% of the network’s current hash rate have expressed support for the upgrade.

Alejandro De La Torre said he was “overjoyed” by the positive reaction from most pools. However, Binance Pool has not yet announced support for Taproot.
In mid-October, Taproot, along with the Tapscript technology and Schnorr signatures, were included in the Bitcoin Core source code.

The upgrade will be one of the most significant in the history of the first cryptocurrency. In addition to boosting scalability and privacy, it aims to improve network functionality and the fungibility of coins.
In November, Poolin launched a discussion platform for mining pools to develop a common approach to activating Taproot.
