Apple and OpenAI Near Agreement to Integrate ChatGPT with iPhone

Apple has reached an agreement with OpenAI to incorporate Sam Altman’s technology into the iPhone, as reported by Bloomberg.

According to the agency’s sources, the parties are finalizing the terms of the contract to use ChatGPT’s chatbot features in a future update of the iOS 18 operating system.

The tool will be integrated with the gadget’s new artificial intelligence features, which Apple will announce in June, claim anonymous insiders.

The company has also approached Google and its parent company Alphabet with a proposal to license the Gemini chatbot. Negotiations are currently in the discussion stage.

In April, Bloomberg journalists reported on the resumption of dialogue between the Californian corporation and OpenAI.

The next iPhone operating system is expected to include several new features based on Apple’s own large language model. However, the company is also seeking partners for chatbot development.

On May 8, Apple briefly mentioned Octane — a 3D design software based on Render Network — during the presentation of the M4 chip on the new iPad.

Following this, the Render (RNDR) token surged by 21%, from $9.5 to $11.5. Other AI-related coins like AKT, AIOZ, and NOS also showed growth.

Back in February, Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed plans to utilize generative AI.

In April, the corporation unveiled an artificial intelligence model for screen context recognition.
