Apple CEO Tim Cook discusses his personal investments in cryptocurrencies

Apple CEO Tim Cook said that he personally owns cryptocurrencies, using digital assets to diversify his investment portfolio. He spoke at the DealBook conference.

Cook added that he had been interested in cryptocurrencies for some time and had explored the topic.

\n\n\n\n

In the near term, Apple does not plan to launch cryptocurrency-related services or integrate them as a potential payment option for its goods and services. He also stressed that the company does not intend to invest money in these financial instruments.

\n\n\n\n

\”I don\’t think people buy Apple shares to gain access to cryptocurrencies,\” the head of the company explained.

\n\n\n\n

Cook noted that ‘there are other things that Apple is definitely considering.’ What these words may mean remains unclear. However, in May the company opened a vacancy for a business development manager with five years’ experience in the cryptocurrency industry, who would head the partnerships program in the segment of \”alternative payments\”.

\n\n\n\n

Earlier in February 2021, RBC Capital Markets analysts urged Apple to follow Tesla and profit from growing interest in digital assets.
