The United States’ attempts to harm Bitcoin run counter to the country’s long-term strategic interests, writes ARK Invest’s chief futurist Brett Winton.
The expert is convinced that the United States would be better off embracing Bitcoin rather than attempting to tightly regulate digital gold.
“To try to destroy Bitcoin because of the threat to the supremacy of the dollar system is akin to trying to neutralise the technology of language translation, because it [allegedly] undermines the dominance of English,” he said.
Comments appeared just days after the delay of SEC verdict on filings to launch spot ETFs based on the first cryptocurrency from several firms.
Earlier, the regulator issued a similar decision regarding ARK Invest and 21Shares’s proposal.
“Both technologies, when introduced more gradually, typically reinforce the edge provided by the measured rule of law that the English/dollar system already enjoys. Everything else becomes a commodity / interchangeable,” he explained.
Cathie Wood predicted favorable rulings on several applications.
