Atlas Mining to expand Bitcoin mining capacity in the United States by 100 MW

The mining company Atlas Mining announced a multi-year agreement with hosting provider Compute North to deploy cryptocurrency mining equipment with a capacity of 100 MW.

According to the press release, the deployment of ASIC miners in data centers across the United States will begin in the first quarter of 2022.

It is expected that after the equipment is launched, its total hash rate will be approximately 3.7 EH/s.

Atlas Mining described the deal as part of a global expansion. The Singapore-based company is expanding its mining operations in North America and Central Asia, as well as in other regions.

In total, the firm has purchased more than 200,000 ASIC miners and intends to continue this trend “over the next several years”.

Atlas has existing contracts for mining infrastructure with a capacity of 400 MW and plans to add another 1 GW within a year and a half.

In July, amid the migration of Chinese miners to Compute North, the company announced the expansion of data-center capacity to 1.2 GW.
