The number of cryptocurrency ATMs in Australia has risen to 1,013, making it the third country to surpass this milestone, following the United States (31,191) and Canada (3,009), according to Coin ATM Radar.
The United States reached its first 1,000 crypto ATMs in November 2017, while Canada achieved this in January 2021.
The installation rate of Bitcoin ATMs resumed growth in June 2023. At the time of writing, the global total stands at 37,665 units.
General Bytes leads among manufacturers with 11,699 crypto ATMs (31.1%), followed by Genesis Coin (9,718, 25.8%) and BitAccess (8,052, 21.4%).
The leading operator of Bitcoin ATMs is Bitcoin Depot, managing 7,542 units or 20% of the market share. CoinFlip (4,874, 12.9%) and BitStop (2,565, 6.8%) also rank in the top three.
Earlier in 2023, the number of crypto ATMs installed worldwide declined by approximately 11.4%, from 37,830 to 33,484 units.
