Avalanche Developers Activate Durango Update and Introduce Teleporter

The Avalanche team has launched Teleporter, a tool designed to enhance messaging processes within the project’s subnet ecosystem.

Teleporter is built on the Avalanche Warp Messaging (AWM) protocol.

The implementation of this new cross-chain data exchange solution was made possible by the Durango update, which included the activation of AWM in the Avalanche C-Chain EVM network.

Teleporter aims to provide seamless connectivity between any EVM-compatible chains within the ecosystem, eliminating fragmentation.

Developers cited potential uses for Teleporter, including:

According to them, the list goes on and on.

“Together, AWM and Teleporter provide a new foundation for how Avalanche blockchains can interact, and developers of dapps can create fully functional cross-chain applications,” the statement reads.

As a result of the Durango upgrade, support for the Avalanche Wallet has been completely discontinued. Users are advised to switch to Core Stake, which offers enhanced functionality, including staking and portfolio management.

The AVAX token has risen by 4% in the past 24 hours and is trading around $42.5 (CoinGecko).

Back in February, the Avalanche ecosystem experienced a disruption that halted block production for several hours.
