Avito miner seller defrauds Tuva resident of 315,000 rubles

A resident of the Republic of Tuva faced fraud while purchasing cryptocurrency mining equipment. The local police said.

The victim saw a listing for a mining rig on Avito. He arranged with the would-be seller to acquire the device for 315,000 rubles.

The seller stated that he would ship the item only after full payment to his bank account.

Subsequently, the buyer received screenshots of documents allegedly confirming shipment, but the equipment was not delivered by the scheduled date, and the seller ceased to respond.

Law enforcement opened a criminal case over fraud and are seeking the suspect.

Earlier, in August, Moscow police detained a suspect who extorted 6.7 million rubles for mining equipment.
