B2C2 crypto OTC platform appoints new chief executive

Phillip Gillespie has stepped down as CEO of the over-the-counter (OTC) platform B2C2. Nicola White has taken the position.

According to the press release, в приобретении B2C2 by Japanese SBI Holdings. After stepping down, he will move to work for the financial holding company.

White has held senior positions at Morgan Stanley and Citadel Securities. In 2021, she led B2C2’s US unit.

«Even though we are experiencing volatile times in the cryptocurrency market, our firm continues to provide critically important and deep liquidity to clients,» White emphasised.

B2C2 has been operating since 2015 and positions itself as the oldest market maker in the crypto market for institutions. In 2019 the company received permission to deal with Bitcoin derivatives from the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority.

Earlier, several high-profile resignations were reported in crypto-related firms. In October, BitMEX’s crypto-derivatives platform CEO Alexander Heptner left the role, and Brett Harrison departed as president of FTX US.

In September, Alex Mashinsky left the post as CEO of the crypto-lending platform Celsius Network.

Earlier this summer, resigned CEO Compass Mining Whit Gibbs and Chief Financial Officer Jodi Fischer.
