Babylon to Airdrop BABY Tokens to Early Participants

The team behind the Babylon staking protocol for the premier cryptocurrency has unveiled details of the BABY token distribution for early participants. A total of 600 million coins, representing 6% of the total supply, will be allocated for this purpose.

Rewards will be given to Phase 1 stakers, Finality Providers, holders of non-fungible tokens Pioneer Pass, and GitHub contributors.

No application is required to receive the coins—they will be automatically credited to registered addresses following the launch of the Babylon Genesis network.

Participants in the distribution are divided into five categories:

• 30 million BABY — to all who participated in Phase 1 staking;
• 335 million BABY — basic rewards for Phase 1 staking;
• 200 million BABY — bonus for Phase 1 participants who transfer their stakes to Phase 2;
• 30 million BABY — to Pioneer Pass holders: 300 BABY per NFT;
• 5 million BABY — to GitHub contributors (based on the number of commits).

To receive tokens, users must agree to the program’s terms and conditions.

Babylon representatives clarified that the distribution does not include other campaigns, such as wallet holder promotions, details of which will be disclosed separately.

On the same day, the project team presented the BABY tokenomics with a total supply of 10 billion tokens.

Distribution among ecosystem participants:

• 3.5% — advisors;
• 15% — team;
• 15% — community incentives;
• 18% — Babylon development;
• 18% — research, development, and operations;
• 30.5% — early investors.

TVL in the protocol has reached $4.3 billion. This confirms the project’s leadership in its segment on DeFi Llama. Babylon is the leading BTCFi protocol by total value locked.

Back in December 2024, the exchange Binance launched Bitcoin staking supported by Babylon.
