Bags Platform Challenges Pump.fun Amid AI Token Hype
Bags platform fees exceed $2 million, marking a thousandfold increase.
On January 16, the fees for launching tokens on the Bags platform exceeded $2 million, marking a thousandfold increase compared to December.

According to The Block, the figure was over $100,000.
Back in December, the platform’s average daily figure was around $640. However, since then, Bags has surpassed Pump.fun in the number of tokens issued.
Bags is a Solana-based platform for creating digital assets linked to internet trends and software. Recently, it has gained popularity among open-source AI projects.
The growing interest in the application correlates with the positive dynamics of the blockchain itself. Over the past two weeks, the number of transactions and active addresses on the Solana network has increased by nearly 50%.
Speculation Scheme
The growing interest in the application correlates with the positive dynamics of the blockchain itself. Over the past two weeks, the number of transactions and active addresses on the Solana network has increased by nearly 50%. When a certain AI repository or utility attracts mass attention from the relevant community, it catches the eye of speculators.
Users launch tokens tied to trending AI repositories. In some cases, the project creator endorses the digital asset, thereby publicly acknowledging the connection. Subsequently, trading fees start flowing into the developer’s wallet. The market perceives this as token legitimization, prompting its price to rise.
Traders try to stay ahead by identifying promising AI projects that are likely to be officially recognized by their authors.
The sustainability of digital assets depends on whether developers will convert speculative tokens into a supported asset and continue their development. Otherwise, they face failure.
The case of the GAS asset is illustrative. Initial support from the project creator boosted the token’s capitalization from $4 million to $60 million. However, it later plummeted below $1 million following criticism from the developer.

Claude Code Becomes a Trend
Claude Code is rapidly gaining popularity: by July 6, 2025, it had been used by 115,000 developers, generating 195 million lines of code weekly.
Anthropic notes that AI assistants significantly speed up development and automate routine tasks.
Key findings from the report:
- 79% of interactions with Claude Code involved automation, where AI independently performed tasks—writing code, fixing errors;
- artificial intelligence is most commonly used for layout and frontend (JavaScript, HTML, CSS);
- the tool is more popular with startups than with large companies.
Claude Code is also hailed as an excellent solution for vibe coding. User lukaslalinsky shared his experience:
“It has a learning curve. You need to learn how to set the context correctly, break down the work into parts, etc. And, of course, you need to know how to program,” he noted.
In January 2026, AI startup Replit launched the Mobile Apps feature, allowing users to create applications via vibe coding and release them directly from the editor.
