Bakkt President Adam White to Leave the Company

The president of Bakkt’s institutional platform, Adam White, said that he would leave the company next week. The executive did not disclose the reason for his departure or what he plans to do after leaving the role.

“After a great 3+ years at Bakkt, next week will be my last. I’ve loved working at the intersection of crypto and markets, and it’s good to see the industry finding the balance between innovation and regulation. There’s still a lot to do here, but I’ve never been more optimistic about the future,” he wrote.

White had been at Bakkt since the platform’s founding in 2018, when he was appointed its chief operating officer. Prior to that, he served as vice president and head of Coinbase’s institutional business.

In October 2021, Bakkt became a publicly traded company, completing a SPAC merger with VPC Impact Acquisition Holdings. Its shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker BKKT.

Bakkt’s securities fell modestly on the news of White’s departure, but they had recovered by the time of writing and were trading near $9.
