The Bank of Russia plans to present a prototype of the digital ruble platform by the end of the current year. Deputy Chairman Alexey Zabotkin said this, according to «Prime».
“By the end of the year, we hope to be able to present a prototype of the digital ruble platform — a technological platform that one can hold in one’s hand, but within which real transactions cannot yet be conducted,” he said.
According to Zabotkin, next year, after refining the prototype platform, the central bank plans to begin ‘testing rounds’.
Earlier, the head of the Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina, said that, in addition to testing and experimenting with the digital ruble, changes to the legislation will be required.
