The platform will focus on selling NFTs featuring historic moments in politics, sports, journalism, entertainment and fashion, with physical reproductions for premium versions of the tokens.

The Ethereum-based marketplace was backed by TIME magazine and recording companies Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group.

\”This is another use case for NFTs, completely different from digital art. As I have mentioned many times in interviews, this technology is incredibly broad and flexible, and we are at the very beginning,\” wrote Beeple.

The first We.new auction will run from July 2 to 5. The auction will feature NFTs commemorating the victory of British professional tennis player Andy Murray in the 2013 Wimbledon final.

According to The Verge, collectors will be offered five versions of non-fungible tokens priced from $49 to $4,999. The buyer of a limited NFT will play tennis with Murray and receive two tickets to the 2022 Wimbledon final.

Earlier, the cryptocurrency exchange Binance launched its own NFT platform.

In June, the NFT marketplace Rarible raised $14.2 million to develop a network protocol. It will help users create their own NFT projects.

Earlier in June, NFT sales declined by about twentyfold.
