“I am not very optimistic about Bitcoin, and my overall takeaway is this: if you have less money than Elon, you should probably be careful,” Gates said.
Microsoft co-founder also noted that digital currencies should be transparent and transactions should be reversible. As an example, he cited the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where all transfers can be tracked.
Earlier this month, Elon Musk called Tesla’s investments in Bitcoin “quite risky” and hinted that it was not his decision.
According to analysts, unrealized profit from the purchase of digital gold has surpassed the profits from selling electric vehicles for all of 2020.
Earlier, on February 18 Gates said that he does not own Bitcoin and takes a neutral stance on the asset.
