Bill Miller's Miller Opportunity Trust reveals a $45m stake in Grayscale Bitcoin Trust

The Miller Opportunity Trust, run by billionaire Bill Miller, owns 1.5 million shares of the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) valued at $44.7 million as of June 30. The disclosure is contained in the report filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

GBTC accounts for 1.55% of the fund’s total assets.

Miller is among the earliest supporters of the first cryptocurrency among major investors. In 2017 the billionaire said that he held 1% of his portfolio in Bitcoin, which he bought in 2014.

As reported in April 2021 Miller stated that digital gold is not a bubble, and called volatility the price to pay for the advantages of the first cryptocurrency.

Earlier the billionaire also dismissed as a mere blip the bitcoin price decline in May.
