The draft law “On Stimulating the Development of the Digital Economy in Ukraine”, envisaging the creation of a special legal regime “Diia City”, referred to a Verkhovna Rada committee for consideration. This was announced by the project’s legal adviser Denys Aleynnikov.
According to him, the bill makes amendments to 26 Ukrainian codes. Separately, changes to the tax, criminal and criminal-procedure codes are provided for. The corresponding document also presented to the Verkhovna Rada.
“Working in close contact with the market, we tried to solve every problem that national players brought to us and to take into account every effective idea proposed by international players,” said Aleynnikov.
The Diia City project aims to create favourable conditions for the development of the IT industry and for realising Ukraine’s investment potential in information technologies. IT companies will receive a special tax regime, flexible labour conditions and a separate process of interaction with public supervisory bodies.
“We understand that it will be difficult to instantly build the world’s best IT ecosystem and a leading international technology hub the size of a country. The main thing is to act constructively,” added Denys Aleynnikov.
In September, Ukraine rose to the lead in Chainalysis’s Global Crypto Adoption Index.
