Billionaire Thomas Peterffy Advises Allocating 2-3% of Capital to Bitcoin

Investors should allocate 2-3% of their capital to Bitcoin, but no more than 10%, given the asset’s volatility. This recommendation was made by Interactive Brokers founder Thomas Peterffy during a broadcast on Bloomberg.

“Everyone who doesn’t own Bitcoin should have some, but not too much,” he suggested.

Peterffy ranks 46th among the world’s wealthiest individuals with a fortune of $53 billion.

The entrepreneur admitted he is “a little afraid” of cryptocurrencies due to price fluctuations.

“Bitcoin has no intrinsic value. The only thing it has is the same as a paper dollar, which is nothing,” he added.

Previously, Bridgewater Associates founder billionaire Ray Dalio referred to digital gold as “hard money.”

In September 2021, Interactive Brokers, with support from Paxos, launched cryptocurrency trading.

In August 2022, the brokerage firm announced the transition of its service to a 24/7 mode and the addition of new coins to its listing, alongside Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash.
