Binance Alerts Users to Clipper Malware Threat
The cryptocurrency exchange Binance warned its clients about the Clipper malware, which targets asset theft and has seen increased activity in recent weeks. A noticeable rise in incidents occurred on August 27.
This malicious software alters wallet addresses during transactions, leading to financial losses.
Clipper spreads through unofficial apps and plugins. It primarily targets Android users, although iOS devices are also at risk.
To counter the threat, Binance’s security team has blacklisted suspicious addresses and informed affected clients.
The exchange advised users to carefully verify withdrawal addresses and scan their devices for malware.
Earlier, ForkLog reported that over 50% of attacks on macOS in six months were attributed to a single crypto stealer.
